Project 1: Ericsson Telecom Client-HANA Enterprise and BI4 Implementation Project, Sweden

 

Ericsson is implementing SAP HANA to a select set of modules like Sourcing workbench (SWB), which was selected as it has huge amount of source data. As a certified SAP HANA consultant working from client location (onsite at Stockolm, Sweden and Bangalore, India) I am responsible for analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of customized HANA solutions for new implementation. My responsibilities included:

 

·   Participating in requirements gathering, scope finalizing, designing technical solutions and preparing the relevant technical specification.

·   Deliver new and complex high quality solutions to clients in response to varying business requirements.

·   Developing HANA Artifacts (models) like attribute views, analytic views, calculation views, database procedure in the SAP HANA Studio platform.

First Solar HANA Implementation Project was in the areas of Supply Chain Management and Inventory, which the client till now were reporting through custom SAP ECC. This has been first-of-its-kind client project, which was implemented by IBM US along with IBM GD-India in order to deliver quality solution (SAP HANA and BO) to the client. This project was involved in Supply Chain Management Process Areas and the scope was defined in Material Management, Vendor Management and Procurement (Purchase Requisition and Purchase Order) functional areas with SAP HANA modeling and BI 4 reporting. My responsibilities are outlined below:

 

·   Actively involved in HANA modeling like attribute view, analytic view and calculation view in the SAP Information modeler/HANA Studio.

·   HANA Programming including SQL Script and CE functions.

Project Trailblazer is CEI (Customer Engagement Initiative) conducted by SAP AG for key strategic partners like IBM to get early hands-on of the new platform AiE(ABAP in Eclipse) and provide feedback and improvement areas to SAP. AS ABAP 7.4 platform is now in beta testing phase and IBM has collaborated to provide feedback to SAP so that the product can be improved before General Availability.

 

·   Being IBM HANA competency core team member, I am actively involved in the design discussions with SAP on new AS ABAP for HANA platform capabilities.

·   Developing a use case in SAP Finance module for beta testing of AS ABAP 7.4 platform.

·   Creating different HANA artifacts in HANA studio and consuming them via external views of data dictionary of SAP ABAP layer

·   Code-push down through HANA database procedures  using SQL script and CE functions

It involves integration to WWI (Windows word processor integration) to generate MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet).The scope of this project also includes enhancements, function modules and custom reports.

Accenture and SAP have collaborated to promote/sell the latest On-demand(cloud) product SAP Business By Design (By D) targeted for Small and Medium enterprise market. SAP ByD is niche and completely hosted solution (on the cloud).It forms the SaaS Product of SAP. ByD is available in multiple countries and targeted mainly for subsidiaries of Large Enterprises. Accenture is partnered with SAP as reseller of ByD and for numerous add-on and micro-vertical solution developments as well as for GTM (Go-to-Market) initiatives. My role is as follows:

 

·   Participated as SME in SAP By Design deep-dive workshops at SAP Labs, Bangalore exclusively for Accenture.

·   Trained on SAP By Design Partner Development Infrastructure (PDI) eco-system for ByD add-on developments and micro-vertical solution development.

·   Certified and trained in ByD Go-Live Experience (GLX) workshop conducted by SAP Labs, Bangalore.

Project 1: Linklaters, London, UK.

 

A leading premium global law firm, Linklaters advises prominent global corporations and financial institutions on their most important, challenging transactions and assignments. IMAP is a SAP based application used in Linklaters through which AP vendor invoices were being created manually. The volume of vendor invoices being huge, users had to manually process each invoice thereby consuming lot of time. Hence, a solution in which automation of the process of vendor invoice creation was implemented to enhance the productivity through IDocs and background job processing. Linklaters had existing SAP HCM and FI modules implemented.

 

·   Existing processes were analyzed and solution using IDoc was designed for automation.

·   Configuration of Partner profile, Logical system for the Inbound IDoc which leads to creation of Vendor invoices.

·   Development of Customized IDoc type.

·   Processing IDocs via setting up of background job which runs over specified time intervals.

·   Preparation of technical specifications and unit testing of objects.

·   Liaison with onsite and project manager in understanding processes and managing the documentation required pertaining to project.

Project 2: Steel Tech, Kentucky, USA.

 

Steel Tech is SAP ABAP full - cycle RICEF implementation project. Steel Technologies processes flat-rolled steel to specific thickness, width, temper, finish and shape requirements for customers in a variety of steel-consuming industries including automotive, appliance, lawn and garden, office equipment, agricultural, machinery, construction, hardware and consumer goods. They are strategically located throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada. Steel Technologies were using AS/400, CPS, MDE and CMS systems which were custom developed 10+ years ago. The risk of unsupported IT failure rises as pool of knowledgeable resources dwindles and system stability decreases. Enabling long-term, scalable platform to grow the business, we have pinpointed the inefficiencies in the clients’ present legacy system and given the capabilities to transform them into competitive advantage. Thus, a full - cycle SAP ABAP RICEF implementation was done.

 

·   Actively involved in the Realization phase of ASAP Methodology in SAP Implementation.

·   Development of interface for data migration .The Interface is for Accounts Receivable Payment Advices using customer data.

PHH Mortgage is a full service lender and leader in mortgage banking, serving real estate brokers, affinity groups, credit unions, financial institutions, corporations and government agencies. PHH, as part of its client integration to external clients, sends data extracts for Customer Information reportable data. XSLT scripts were used to create data extracts for the respective clients in the existing layouts, formats and logic. Understanding design, coding, integrating the different modules of SAP and non-SAP system and testing were executed. EAI used for this module is Tibco IM.

 

·   Understanding the business rules and developing the same technically.

·   Development and testing using SAP XML and XSLT.

·   Integrating the different modules using Tibco IM.

Project 4: Employee Management System (EMS)

 

EMS is a internship project during my 8th Semester course of Bachelors of Engineering.

Employee Management System monitors and manages the employee records within an organization. Capturing employee efforts was achieved more efficiently through SAP database. Data consolidation and analysis needs were also addressed through generation of reports.The objective was to switch employee legacy system to SAP R/3.
